Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s new HSIM portal goes live

Bay of Plenty Regional Council has recently launched its new hazardous substances inventory management (HSIM) system.
The new HSIM portal meets the requirement of Health and Safety at Work regulations by allowing staff to log in and see up-to-the-minute information for hazardous substances throughout the region.

Built on a custom .Net application, the HSIM portal lets users:

  • Create an inventory of all hazardous substances used, handled, manufactured and stored at their workplace
  • Keep the inventory up-to-date and ensure there’s a safety data sheet for each hazardous substance for regular review
  • Understand the risks associated with hazardous substances so that they can take appropriate measures.
